Firstly, I’d like to apologise for my use of the word “haul” in the title of this post. I don’t love the word, but for the sake of SEO, there it is. Glad we got that out of the way!
A few weeks back, I placed my first ever order with e.l.f. cosmetics. I was on the cusp of ordering before the brand ceased distributing in the U.K. but never did for some reason. Following their recent return to the U.K. market (yay!) I decided it was finally time to see what all the fuss was about.
It has been literal years that I have been lusting after the Studio High Definition Powder. It was constantly out of stock in the translucent shade previously, but finally it has become available to buy. I’m a bit funny when it comes to powders; I think I’m just crap at using them, because I normally end up cakey and dry. I’m interested to see how this one turns out.
Another product I’ve wanted to try for a while was the Studio Eyebrow Kit, so into my virtual basket it went. I am overjoyed to say that I bought the right shade (medium) – this can always be tricky when ordering online! My old brow brush from The Body Shop doesn’t seem to get on with the gel, and I’m not a fan of the tiny brushes that often come included with palettes like these, so I will have to get a new brush at some point soon.
It was time, so it seemed, for me to order my first ever lip liner. Have I been watching too many YouTube beauty tutorial videos? Quite possibly. Nonetheless, I’ve wanted to try a lip liner for a while so I chose the Essential Long-wear Lipliner Pencil in Bitter, as it matches the mauves and dark pinks that I usually go for in lipsticks. Practice will make perfect with this one, and luckily there are plenty of the aforementioned video tutorials on this out there.
The rest of the order was made up of lots of eye-related products. I have long had issues with concealer settling into the lines around my eyes, so I thought it high time I tried to fix that! I’ll be putting the Studio Hydrating Under Eye Primer and Studio High Definition Under Eye Setting Powder to the test on this front. Here’s to hoping I’ll have crease-free under eye coverage in the near future!
Lastly, I ordered the Studio Cream Eyeliner in Midnight, which I’ll need to master the technique of applying in time for the festive season. Cotton buds and saintly patience at the ready…
I am excited to trial these e.l.f. goodies over the coming weeks and write more about them soon.
Have you tried any of these products? What can I expect?
